There are 23,000 students at the University from more than 130 countries. Undergraduate students make up 16,435 of these with a gender split of 56% female, to 44% male. The total number of international students is 5,000.

The city of Southampton has around 200,000 habitants and is just over one hour from central London. It is a safe city with plenty of shopping and sports facilities. Southampton Airport connects the city with the rest of the UK and Europe. There are regular ferry services between Southampton and the Isle of Wight as well as between the nearby city of Portsmouth and mainland Europe. The port is one of the most important in the UK and is a common destination for ocean liners. We have six campuses in all - four in various locations around Southampton, one in Winchester.

The University of Southampton has four compusesin southampton city:Highfield Campus (where the main library,sports centre and Student's union are located),Avenue Campus (home of our faculty of Humanities),Waterfront Campus (where the National Oceanography Centre and our Ocean and Earth Sciences are) and Southampton General Hospital.All the campuses are connected through the University Uni-link bus service.

Our Winchester School of Art is located in the city of Winchester, the ancient capital of England, which remains a picturesque and traditionally English town.
