Accountants handle the financial aspect of either corporations or individuals. The job scope of an accountant includes establishing and maintaining accurate financial records for an individual or a business. It may also include designing and controlling systems of records, audit, and preparing financial statements. An accountant in some instances, may provide tax advice and prepare tax returns.

There are certified & non-certified accountants. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) needs to pass an accounting exam and must possess relevant business experience & education to qualify for the licence. Accountants are essential to any business as they ensure that  profits and loss are closely monitored so as to avert any disasters.

Many CPAs have progressed to become financial controllers (FCs), managing the entire accounting system in addition to keeping up to date with the latest accounting and tax laws, thus ensuring that everything is above the law. The FC is also in charge of financial planning and budgeting.

Junior accountants normally work in teams and very often,  responsible for auditing an important account or preparing financial statements. Anyone interested in this field can prepare for a bright career.
