Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts
Who we are
Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts is a specialist creative arts institution offering high quality learning and teaching in the heart of Cambridge, one of the most historic cities in the world. We offer pathways in Art & Design, Drama and Music aiming to develop the skills and confidence of many inspiring artists and performers. Over 30 years, we have provided a unique and highly personalised method of learning, creating an environment in which to nurture, educate and encourage creative individuals.
We actively support students through a hands-on-approach, extensive contact time with lecturers and all the equipment, materials, space and time needed to discover and develop their own individual voice and style as a creative artist. Our goal is to provide students with the best possible environment in which to meet their full potential.
We guarantee our final year students participation in an end-of-year show. Our 3rd year BA students will take part in our Graduate Show in London, giving them the opportunity to celebrate and display their work.
Our Art Foundation students, as well as those in year 1 & 2 of the Degree programme, have a chance to showcase their work in our Cambridge Fashion Show. This is a unique opportunity, at such an early stage of training, but we believe it is vital for the students’ development. It gives them the experience to learn how to put together a show and how to make creations that look good on a mannequin and on the catwalk.
Every year we give our Art Foundation students, as well as those in year 1 & 2 of BA Graphics & Illustration a chance to exhibit their work in our Cambridge Fashion Show.
Our courses offer many and various opportunities to perform to both in-house and public audiences, to create and develop students’ work, and to experience live professional theatre across a broad spectrum of genres and styles in a variety of theatrical spaces. These opportunities ensure the solid grounding in both skill and learning that students need to move successfully into the next level of their training.
